The T-Ten is a 33' Offshore One Design with strong class rules and a large class membership. The National Championship regularly has between 30 and 40 boats participating. The boat is also easy to sail and a great day sailing boat with a 9'6" cockpit and an inboard diesel engine. The Tenspeed newsletter, available link to the right, has up to date articles, race results and reports on class activities.

2010 T-Ten North American Championship
Aug. 4th - Aug. 8th 2010
Bayview Yacht Club Detroit, Michigan
T10 Members,
As you all likely know this year’s 2010 North American Championship will be held at Bayview Yacht Club in Detroit with racing scheduled from August 5 thru 8 on Lake St. Clair.
Anybody that has raced out of Bayview knows that they know how to host a regatta both on the water and on shore. Time is ticking and I’d like to urge those of you intending to compete take a little time to register at www.yachtscoring.com . I’d like to get an idea of how many boats intend on making the trip. The no late fee deadline is July 21. Registration can also be reached through links at the T10 and Bayview websites.
Click NOTICE OF RACE for details and linked are a couple of pertinent documents(Sail Measurement and Bayview RV Policy) for your review. You’ll notice one of the documents is a notice that Bayview no longer can allow RVs on site during events. Hopefully this doesn’t cause too much of an issue for anybody. I look forward to seeing everybody and contact me any time if you have any questions or comments.
It has come to my attention that it isn’t very clear how to make payment for the entry, wristbands, keg sponsorships, etc. after registering on the website for the NAC. You’ll find a one page entry form attached to the Notice of Race. This form can be filled out with checks made payable to Wolverine Inflatables and mailed to:
Thanks to Rick Lillie (Waterworks) and Leif Sigmond of the Chicago Fleet, the missing NAC trophy has been found. It has not been updated since 2001. Let's keep up the search and find all the missing perpetual trophies so we can continue to award them in the future.
Chicago is missing two perpetual trophies.
Lake Erie is missing three. The East and West Series championship (half hull model and a lantern) The Lake Erie Championship is also missing --- it consists of a yellow ½"= 2’ scale half-model of the T-10 mounted on a wooden plaque 12" x 24".
If anyone knows the whereabouts (look on your living room wall, check out a friend's house, talk to previous owners) of any of these trophies, please contact Ted Mahoney 216-548-9975 on Lake Erie or Leif Sigmond on Chicago.
This table shows the current status of the measurement certificates. If your hull number is in the 'Accepted' area of the table and underlined, you can click on it to see a PDF image of your document. Please review to verify your information. Only documented information is recorded.
It is the goal of the T-Ten Class to get an accepted / complete measurement certificate for every boat in order to continue fair one design racing in every one design event.
An accepted measurement certificate is required to participate in the 2010 NAC.
If you have additional information or require copies of old documentation not posted on the website, please send the data or request to Ted Mahoney mahonetd@roadrunner.com.

Lightning Strike - T-Ten sinking
Wednesday night (June 23rd) the sailing yacht Britsar, owned by Ken Schram, was hit by lightning during a thunderstorm while moored in its slip. The through-hull fitting for the speedometer was blown open, sinking the boat. Fortunately no one was aboard at the time of the lightning strike.
Britsar may not be salvageable. She is a sistership to No Rebase and moored just two slips down. The Tartan 10 community is saddened by the loss of a good boat.
Congratulations to Scott Irwin, T-Ten President, and Team IBall for winning the T-Ten Lake Erie Championship at Cleveland Race Week One Design Weekend. Edgewater Yacht Club and Fleet 19 sponsored this well run T-Ten sanctioned event with three days of racing, plenty of parties and plenty of prizes. Conditions went from totally shifty on Friday to heavy winds on Saturday and great sailing on Sunday. Everyone checked in according to the T-Ten rules and had a great time. More details and photos to follow.
PHOTOSIf you would like high resolution copies for printing, contact Ted Mahoney or Paul Nickerson, the photographer. No charge, just a donation to the T-Ten Class.
Congratulations to Leif Sigmond and his crew for his victory in the 2010 Patent Cup. He and his team represented the US sailing a J80 on June 3-6 sailing off the the island of Marstrand in Sweden. For more information click Patent Cup 2010
