Lightning Strike - T-Ten sinking

Wednesday night (June 23rd) the sailing yacht Britsar, owned by Ken Schram, was hit by lightning during a thunderstorm while moored in its slip. The through-hull fitting for the speedometer was blown open, sinking the boat. Fortunately no one was aboard at the time of the lightning strike.

Has anyone else experienced a T-10 lightening strike and if so, were you in harbor or off shore and what was the resultant damage if any?
