Day 4 Report by Lou Jacob

skipper of Skidmarks

Day 4 - As for today's racing, it was quite windy - 10-20 knots out of the southwest... very gusty and a bit shifty as well. Definitely not the typical local weather, from what I've been told. We had two races, which we were told to expect, and both of them were fast-paced and challenging. We had a general recall on the 2nd race, and the race committee put up the Z-flag after a general recall. For the most part, the top boats were consistent and stayed ahead of the pack, but there was definitely a bigger disbursement of boats then on previous days. Speaking for the crew of Skidmarks, we had a hard time holding it together because our crew was so exhausted and boat handling became a bigger and bigger challenge in the heavier air.

I'm really at a loss for words on any more of the specifics of today, but as for the regatta as a whole, it was a great experience for us and I hope to travel with the boat again!!!!
